GOING âWALKABOUTâ
To neither lie nor intrude with poor intentions into another's affairs sums up the recommended behavior and temptations to be avoided. But as to deciding what should be said and done, that is why each soul is blessed with free will. Poor performances in past incarnations necessitate future lessons and disappointments and owing to the truth of reincarnation and personal responsibility, there is no book or sermon given by any third party that can exceed the status of merely one opinion. It is this sense of personal responsibility and the need to engage in constant self-reflection which must be at the core of any faith that has kept its ancient mystical heritage intact. There can be no supreme leader, no holy building, or anointed book that stands above the flock. Realization comes from within; everything else is background noise. Under these parameters, not only what is declared, but also the style of delivery and spaces in between are just as important.
Original people all reserve time for reflective silence and intuition, an opportunity to commune with the spirits and the pulse of the land, on a sabbatical sojourn referred to as âwalkabout.â In Pistis Sophia Mary Magdalene's demeanor is typical of an Original Australian Elder. This is revealed in a section the importance of which is emphasized by it being the longest reply offered to Jesus's Apostles in this text. The manner in which Mary takes a lengthy pause before asking her question is a perfect sixty-minute âsnapshotâ of traditional Original ways.
âIt came to pass then, when Mary had heard the Savior say these words, that she gazed fixedly into the air for the space of an hour. She said âMy Lord, give commandment unto me to speak in openness.ââ15
Jesus's response to her request to speak, after one hour of contributing nothing, seems very reminiscent of Original Australian meditative practice. To commend someone and place them above all mortals in advance, with no words or participation to base an exaltation of this scope upon, is a bold vote of confidence. Jesus knew that after one hour of continuous consultation with the kingdom of the Father, whatever Mary was about to proclaim was divinely sanctioned and deserving of the highest praise.
âMary, thou blessed one, whom I will perfect in all mysteries of those of the height, discourse in openness, thou, whose heart is raised to the kingdom of heaven more than all my brethren.â16
His carte-blanche promise to reveal everything after spending one hour on an internal âwalkaboutâ is as warranted as it is Original. As expected Mary's question/observation met Jesus's expectations, so much so that he praised her for being the âfullness of fullness and the perfection of all perfections.â17
There are two options available when determining where the inspiration behind Gnostic Christianity was sourced, it either evolved spontaneously and completely out of Jesus's ministry, or came from an older scripture or tradition. To our knowledge there isn't a commentator on either âside of the fenceâ who makes claim to Gnosticism being sourced from anywhere other than Egypt.
